Details

In April 2024, the State Archaeological Collection in Munich celebrated the reopening of its museum. The striking building, clad in Corten steel, was extensively renovated and redesigned. For the reopening, we developed a campaign featuring posters, advertisements, and social media posts. We also redesigned the visual identity and planned the signage. Our design combines minimalist, contemporary elements with digital technologies and the museum’s timeless architecture. The result is a visual concept that highlights the museum’s modernity while preserving the historical significance of the collection.

The Jury‘s Statement

The Archaeological State Collection in Munich has created a branding project with its reopening that impressively unites tradition and modernity. The campaign employs a clear visual language that harmoniously combines the striking architecture with contemporary design elements. By addressing a broad audience through print, social media, and signage, the project achieves wide reach. Particularly noteworthy is the Roman cavalry mask as an iconic key visual, capturing the historical significance of the collection while translating it into modern aesthetics.
