The Award for Brand Management

Celebrating Your Brand Success

The German Brand Awards honour excellent brand management. Since 2016, they have recognised strategies and creations that set new standards in the branding world – and offer the people behind them an exclusive platform for exchanging knowledge and making contacts. Not least, they provide an occasion to celebrate team achievements.

Industry Stage and Networking Event

With over 1,600 entries annually from 18 countries, the German Brand Awards are not only among the most significant prizes for holistic brand work in the DACH region, but also enjoy growing international relevance and reach. Around 800 guests from SMEs, industry and the agency landscape come together at the Awards Show in Berlin. As an day-long programme, the German Brand Convention offers many opportunities for networking. Here, CMOs meet creatives, and newcomers meet industry figures. The gala evening then puts the spotlight on all winning teams.

What It's About

Strong brands are the result of consistent work on strategy, design, communication and experience. The German Brand Awards understand brand management as the entrepreneurial translation of a brand identity into a relevant and consistent presence, with the aim of creating brand trust, differentiation and sustainable success.

Who Presents and Decides

The German Brand Awards are an initiative of the German Design Council and gmk Markenberatung. The winners are determined by an independent, interdisciplinary panel of expert judges. Its members bring expertise from marketing and branding, design, business, academia and consulting. Entries are assessed according to defined criteria, including originality, brand typicality, differentiation, target group relevance, design quality, degree of innovation, sustainability, continuity, future viability and economic impact.
