Details

The Hamburg-based design studio White by Design developed a comprehensive rebranding for the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg – pro bono and out of deep conviction. In socially sensitive times, the new corporate design sets a precedent for dialogue, openness, and contemporary Jewish identity. Inspired by Hamburg's cosmopolitanism, the logo translates sound, water, and bridges into a minimalist, dynamic form with a deliberate touch of playfulness – much like music itself. The rebranding strengthens the public perception of contemporary Jewish culture and repositions the orchestra both nationally and internationally.

The Jury‘s Statement

There was a visible gap between the Jewish Chamber Orchestra Hamburg’s self image and its previous appearance. White by Design closes it with a precise repositioning that frames contemporary Jewish culture in an open and current way without reducing it to religious symbols. The visual identity condenses music, dialogue and Hamburg references into a dynamic form with several readings and carries this idea through consistently across analogue and digital applications. This creates a clearly led cultural brand with an internationally compatible profile.
