FraAlliance – the joint venture between Fraport and Lufthansa – is improving the travel experience at Frankfurt Airport with digital services. For the new iQR information system, advyze® developed ‘ROGER’, a friendly robot character that provides emotional support to travellers, helps them find their way around and encourages them to scan the QR code. As an ‘airport buddy’, ROGER makes complex information easily accessible and ensures a stress-free, intuitive and positive airport experience.

The Jury‘s Statement

In the dense communications environment of an airport, information alone is not enough. advyze gives the digital iQR system a figure in "ROGER" that brings together orientation and activation. The robot serves as a clear visual anchor across screens, posters and wayfinding systems, and lowers the threshold for use with linguistically reduced messages. A technical interface becomes a recognisable communication principle that reaches international travellers more quickly and makes the passenger journey easier to navigate.
