Looking for queer events in one place? For a long time, there was no central platform for this. Rainbowtime closes this gap: an event platform by the queer community for the queer community that bundles events, makes them visible and connects people. That's why we created a visual identity for Rainbowtime that reflects diversity, inclusion and community. Our design strategy combines authenticity with differentiation: Rainbowtime should fit organically into the community while also being recognisable as a standalone brand.
The Jury‘s Statement
Where information on queer events long remained scattered and fleeting, maalef studio uses "Rainbowtime" ("Rainbowtime - LGBTQ+ Event Calendar") to establish a brand with a clear social function. The positioning treats the calendar as protected community infrastructure and avoids identity-fixing categorisations in favour of orientation and self-determination. The visual system references queer codes without slipping into cliché and remains precise across digital applications. The project gains relevance because brand strategy here concretely organises access, visibility and belonging.
