Over the past three years, WSW Wuppertaler Stadtwerke have evolved from a local utility provider into a pioneer of sustainable energy and mobility transformation. With the claim -Meaning“We are pioneers,” the brand connects tradition and future. A clear rebranding, modern style guide, and authentic visual language reinforce regional identity. The communication strategy is built on three pillars: profile, value, and trust. Green Evolution, a social intranet, and digital channels drive transparency, dialogue, and lasting brand engagement with their communities.
The Jury‘s Statement
From a traditional municipal utility brand presence, WSW has developed a brand that frames energy provision and mobility as a shared task for the future. The claim "Wir sind Wegbereiter" ("We are trailblazers"), the revised visual identity and imagery clearly rooted in the region give this repositioning a precise profile. At the same time, communication across digital channels, the internal intranet and community formats creates transparency and dialogue. This enables an infrastructure brand to build closeness and provide orientation where reliability and public relevance are crucial.
