A brand was created for the new nursery provider Katholino that offers guidance, a sense of community and support. The task was to develop a brand strategy and visual identity that encourage engagement whilst also highlighting educational quality and a values-based approach. “Shaping childhood together” is at the heart of the project: an open, participatory design system that fosters a sense of belonging and can be flexibly adapted to different nurseries. Media resources and templates encourage active participation. This creates an identity that embeds participation and makes complex requirements accessible in a playful way.

The Jury‘s Statement

In an environment shaped by staff shortages, diversity and growing complexity, a nursery provider needs a sign that creates a sense of belonging and offers orientation. The logo for "Katholino" meets this task with a modular system that keeps the umbrella brand clear while allowing each setting its own form. The superimposition becomes the defining principle: it ensures recognisability, enables participation and anchors the brand’s promise visibly in everyday practice.
