Following the acquisition of Abiomed by Johnson & Johnson in 2022, a multi-year brand integration process began. The objective was to position Abiomed clearly within the J&J MedTech portfolio, establish the “Heart Recovery” business unit, and ensure continuity – “Same content, new design.” At the Aachen site and across the region, the brand change was communicated clearly and consistently to all key stakeholders, providing orientation and strengthening trust.
The Jury‘s Statement
With Abiomed’s integration into Johnson & Johnson MedTech, the brand faced the task of making affiliation visible without removing what was familiar. Klondike developed a corporate brand design that clearly codes this transition: the shift from blue to red, the alignment under the master brand and the profiling of Heart Recovery provide orientation across all key touchpoints. This brand work becomes robust because design, message and rollout all support the same idea with precision: same content, new design.
