Brand Communication – Point of Sale

Details
A modern EDEKA store with 2,850 m² of sales space is being built in a central location, designed by Schweitzer and Interstore as a flagship project for EDEKA Südbayern. The store preserves the industrial character of the site with a future-proof design. Distinctive design elements and the "i" create identity while incorporating Bavarian culture. Fresh sections like fish, meat, and cheese are clearly structured. A pre-checkout bakery, fruit and vegetable section, and a bio-world highlight the store, making it a unique experience.
The Jury‘s Statement
In urban food retail, the sales space plays a decisive role in how a brand is perceived. For EDEKA Südbayern, Schweitzer has developed a store that does not overwrite the building’s industrial fabric, but uses it as part of the identity. Local references, distinctive graphics and clearly structured fresh food zones create orientation and distinctiveness at the point of purchase. The consistent integration of design, assortment zones and functional infrastructure anchors the brand spatially and culturally in the everyday lives of its audience.
