Nemag, an international leader in the construction of grabs, celebrates its 100th anniversary with a book. The concept reflects the company’s position, which is significantly different from many years before. That is why the book distinguishes between the current company and what came before. For example, the Now section outlines the company of today and the Then section where Nemag comes from. By folding the entire cover, one can choose one book or the other: Now and Then. Together they are Nemag. The result is an interactive book that you'll want to turn over again and again to see a different cover on the front.

The Jury‘s Statement

An anniversary book often tends towards a linear retrospective. For Nemag, Studio Dorothee Pape takes a different approach: it deliberately separates the present and the company’s origins without splitting the brand into two narratives. The fold-over cover makes this dual perspective physically legible and gives the print medium a precise function within brand communication. Content, colour structure and dramaturgy subordinate the history to the company’s current self-image. The result is a book that not only documents identity, but organises it in a form that is easy to understand.
