The Small Town Gems are a marketing association that has been financing joint activities since 2018. Until now, it lacked a sustainable, shared, tangible product. That changed in summer 2024! Since August, all 20 small town gems can be found in the Zeigmal app. This was developed by an innovative start-up from Baden-Württemberg. Each town offers numerous points of interest, augmented reality stops and audio recordings from local experts, as well as at least one digital tour. Guests and residents can receive entertaining information around the clock and immerse themselves in the places in a playful way. They even have the chance to win a prize.

The “Kleinstadtperlen” project impressively demonstrates how digital transformation can sustainably strengthen regional tourism. The “Zeigmal” app creates an experience that seamlessly blends tradition and modernity. Through augmented reality, audio content, and interactive tours, it enables an emotionally engaging, playful exploration of the towns. Particularly noteworthy is the seamless integration of local stakeholders, preserving authenticity and identity. This well-conceived concept delivers interactive value that captivates both visitors and residents alike.
