Foundation (1952 – 1959). Over the years, as prosperity started to grow so did the need for high-quality and comfortable living room furniture. And so in 1952, a former rag factory in the Swabian town of Ertingen began its production of upholstered furniture, sofa beds and mattresses. The name: ERPO – a combination derived »Ertingen« and the German term for upholstered furniture »Polstermöbel«. Because even today the company still remains true to itself and its original production site.
