»Leben statt Lockdown. Lass dich impfen.« is a joint vaccination campaign by the retail sector and the retail real estate industry. The aim is to increase people’s willingness to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Germany. On the one hand, people are made aware of the vaccination in several languages (at the POS in stores, via the online or social media channels of the participating companies, etc.). On the other hand, specific vaccination offers are made specifically in the shopping centres.


Statement of the jury

Even though there were enough Covid-19 vaccines available in autumn 2021, vaccine progress stagnated. »Leben statt Lockdown. Lass dich impfen.« (»Live instead of lockdown. Get vaccinated«) was the largest privately organised vaccination campaign in Germany. Not only did the campaign, which generated 40 million contacts per day, call for people to get vaccinated; it also created many vaccination offers that enabled uncomplicated vaccination, e.g. in shopping centres. The way in which the food retail sector and the non-food sector combined their forces and worked side by side is great and had a huge social impact, which brought Germany closer to the goal of herd immunity by more than 750,000 vaccines.
