The German Brand Institute was created to highlight the importance of brand management as a crucial factor in the success of companies operating in competitive domestic and international environments. The Institute and the German Design Council honour outstanding brand management with the unique German Brand Award.
The German Brand Institute was jointly initiated by the German Design Council and the brand consultancy GMK Markenberatung. Founded over sixty years ago on the initiative of the German Bundestag, the German Design Council represents the international design and brand industries in Germany and provides expert, sustained support to business and industry on all design and branding issues.
Via the German Brand Monitor and the German Brand Institute, the German Design Council and the brand consultancy GMK Markenberatung underline their commitment to the competitiveness of German brands.
